Common Questions
Questions families ask
Straight answers about who we see, how visits work, and how to reach us.
What ages do you see?
New patients are ages 6 through graduation from high school.
Who can request an appointment for a child or teen?
For anyone under 18, the request must come from a parent or legal guardian with authority to consent to the child’s treatment. Referring clinicians are welcome to share the request link with a family.
Are visits in person or virtual?
Initial evaluations are recommended in person to help us get to know one another, build a connection, and develop a fuller understanding of your child through conversation and observation.
Follow-up visits may combine office and video appointments, based on your child’s needs and treatment plan, with in-person visits for monitoring when needed.
When are appointments available?
Saturdays, 10 am–4 pm (in person, McLean). Additional appointment times, including secure video visits, may be available by arrangement.
Do you work with autism or OCD?
Our main focus is ADHD, anxiety, and depression. For children on the autism spectrum, Dr. Singh works as one part of a larger team, with medication playing a small role for specific co-occurring symptoms. For OCD, both therapy and medication are proven treatments that work best together, so he coordinates closely with your child’s therapist. If your child needs a therapist and doesn’t have one, he will help you find one.
Do you offer ongoing therapy?
The practice focuses on evaluation and medication management, and brief therapy is often part of those visits. Standalone weekly psychotherapy is not offered. When ongoing therapy is needed, Dr. Singh coordinates with your child’s therapist, or helps connect you with one if your child doesn’t have a therapist yet.
How do referrals work?
Dr. Singh can review information from a referring provider. Families also complete a brief screening call to discuss whether an initial evaluation is appropriate.
I have questions before I decide. How do I ask them?
Use the same short online form. It has a space for your question, and Dr. Singh will follow up with a phone call to talk it through. The form, not email, is the right place for anything about your child, because it is secure.
What will the evaluation cost?
Blue Horse is a self-pay practice. Fees are reviewed during the initial call and provided in writing, with a Good Faith Estimate, before your first appointment. See Fees & Insurance.
Where do I complete the intake packet?
Intake forms and questionnaires are completed through the secure patient portal before your first appointment. You’ll receive the link after the initial call.
