About Blue Horse

Meet Ravi Singh, MD

I believe a young person deserves to be fully understood, and their family heard, before we begin tailoring a treatment plan.

Why Blue Horse?

Blue is the color of steady and calm, and a blue horse is rare. There is a reason guides put a new rider on the horse that knows the mountain: it has made the climb before, it knows the pace that works, and it can find the path again when the trail is lost. Together they go further than either could alone. That is how I think about my role. We decide together what matters most; I bring the experience to help get you there; and we make the journey together.

How I practice

At Blue Horse Child and Family Psychiatry, I practice the way I believe child psychiatry works best: with the time to understand a young person fully, and to partner with them and their family, before offering expertise and considering treatment options.

My goal is to meet kids where they are. That starts with your child’s history and your family’s story—where your child is developmentally, and who they are connected to across home, school, and friends—along with any past experiences with behavioral health treatment and relevant medical and educational records.

A good treatment plan looks at the whole picture—a young person’s health and daily rhythms, their school and activities, the people who support them, and the family’s spirituality and cultural background—because care works best when it fits the life they live.

Medication is one tool, never the only one. When it is part of the plan, I take the same care in starting it, adjusting it, and stopping it. Some medications are needed for a season, others for longer. I pay attention to when one is no longer needed.

When young patients feel ownership of their own growth, they are more motivated for change. That means helping them understand themselves, seeing their strengths clearly, and working through the areas that need support, in concepts that fit their age and stage. My role is to provide the guidance and information they need to make informed decisions, and to help families understand the possible benefits and drawbacks right alongside them.

Grounded in more than a decade of caring for young people, I see children and adolescents ages 6 through high school, with continued care into the early 20s when it is the right fit. I take pride in refining my approach and learning from each family, and it is a privilege to watch my patients grow and move toward their goals.

A little more about me

Outside the office I am a husband and father of three, which reminds me every day why this work matters. I play music, train in martial arts, enjoy track racing, and stay active in community advocacy—all of it keeps me grounded.
